Dance at Shelter Rock: DanceVisions NY

DANCE VISIONS NY returns to UUCSR with guest artists, WILLOW!

Dance Visions NY returns to Shelter Rock to present "Timeless Dances" in the Veatch Ballroom and adjacent lawn of Veatch House on Sunday, October 7 at 1:30 PM.

Highlights include Isadora Duncan’s Tribute to Greek Gods, created to Schubert’s Symphony in C and a chamber music rendition to Strauss's Roses from the South. Three new Jucovy works will premiered: Earth Trilogy includes Isadora Duncan Dances of Nature, Delicate Web, which illustrates future effects of climate change on humanity, and Hymn, a prayer for the earth created to a Native American medley arranged for the dance by UUCSR's very own Willow Choral Director, Farah Chandu and performed live by the chorus! Willow will also performing “No Time” for this program.  Jolted Reverie, is set to music of Beethoven and the music of percussionist Napoleon Revels Bey, who will be playing this performance. Tangos, created earlier this year, also will be featured. Tangos includes duets, featuring one man and four women, and an enticing finalé, created to the stunning music of Astor Piazollo. Lastly, a Jucovy favorite, Landscapes, is set to classical Spanish guitar music and will round out the program.

This concert is free and open to all.
