Live on Zoom: https://zoom.us/j/95346474715?pwd=NkgvN2pCelMvOTROOHdxTDdVcjBFZz09
Join us in our continuing venture in reading plays: some old, some new, comedy, drama, farce. PDF copies of the play are e-mailed to participants and hard copies can be requested by mail at least 10 days in advance of the reading. Please contact Jessica Pond at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 516.472.2914 to RSVP and request your copy.
Parts will be assigned over e-mail and on the night of the reading. After the reading we discuss the play, the author, relevance and interpretation. If you don’t want to be an actor, feel free to attend and share in the discussion. Play readers, please email Wally Brown (email@example.com) to volunteer for specific parts before the reading.
Indecent is the real-life story of a Yiddish play about a romance between two women that, upon its eventual production on Broadway in 1923, was shut down on the grounds of obscenity. All are welcome to come experience this beautiful, heart-breaking tale of the struggle for freedom of love and artistic expression.
